Nara SK hosted the third and last CircleVET Online Lab. We had the pleasure of learning about their plans of expanding circularity approach all over the country and somehow influencing the world.
On the first days, we heard from Ivana Škriniarová, from Nara SK, how they are helping the city of Žiar nad Hronom to become a circular city. They have audacious plans to tackle many challenges and make the city more green.
Also very interesting, is how the organization became a mentor and advocate of the GreenPass® certification, a tool for the management of urban climate adaptation, during the building phase. This certification was presented by Ján Plesnik, chairman of the organization.
Last, but not least, Nara SK is launching a social enterprise, Podnik Obehového Hospodárstva, Slovakian for Circular Economy Enterprise. It’s a construction company which touches the 3 pillars of sustainability: social, environmental and economic. With their technologies and support, materials that would otherwise end up in landfills are used again in the construction industry while supporting employment locally.
