Next stop: İzmir, Turkey! Hosted by our partners ITMBO, Chamber of Textile Manufacturers of İzmir, we were able to take a close look at the development of the textile industry and how they are applying circular economy principles.
On the first day, we were invited to visit a Hugo Boss manufacturer and learn about their process improvement to reduce scraps and waste. Then, we drove almost 3h to visit a factory of recycled fabric that uses clothing manufacturing waste to produce new fabrics.
On our last day of visiting we were received by the chamber managers and had a pleasant conversation about how they foresee the circular economy in the industry and country. Also, we had the pleasure to meet the founder of Senemiskoo, that upcycles old clothes creating from them toys and much more.
As part of the integration activity, we had a nice dinner among all partners in a pleasant restaurant in the city!
